The site uses neither Google Maps nor Google Places, nor any customer reviews. From the reference lists, it takes only the fact of membership (and a ranking’s rank), with the link.

Updates
Every week, the data pipeline rereads Wikidata and OpenStreetMap, checks the results (coordinate bounds, duplicates, change in the number of places per brand, a source for every piece of evidence) and publishes only if all checks pass. Otherwise, the site keeps its last valid data.

Automatic sources
- Wikidata — Wikidata (CC0 licence): year founded, country, parent company, official website, number of Wikipedia editions. Official SPARQL service. A value entered by hand prevails, and every discrepancy is logged.
- OpenStreetMap — OpenStreetMap (ODbL licence): location, address and opening hours of places, through the Overpass API, following its usage policy.
- GeoNames — GeoNames (CC BY 4.0 licence): cities of 15,000 inhabitants or more, for the nearest city when the address gives none.
- ECB — European Central Bank: reference exchange rates, to compare a price found in another currency.
- OpenFreeMap — OpenFreeMap: vector base map (OpenStreetMap data, Positron and Dark styles).

The database derived from OpenStreetMap data is offered under the same licence (ODbL): 8,112 places, in GeoJSON format. lieux.geojson (ODbL 1.0)
